Client: A multi-location orthopedic group
Location: DFW Area
Specialty: Spine and back specialists
Issue:This specialty group was having a hard time keeping up with requests for records due to their large volume of patients. The staff was severely behind and could not keep up with the requests. The group was forced to hire a dedicated staff person to deal with 3rd party requests for copies of medical records, increasing the cost structure of the group and taking away from the staff’s ability to focus the patients.
AMRAS Action:AMRAS Corp came in and evaluated the problem and outlined a detailed solution and presented it to the group. AMRAS decided it was best to staff someone there full time at the specialty institute and taking ownership of all third party requests. By having AMRAS take ownership of that position and that process, the group was allowed to re-focus their staff on core activities. Also, this change allowed 3rd party requests to get addressed quickly since AMRAS had someone on-site to handle the groups’ medical records and answer questions from patients.
Conclusion:Through AMRAS Corp. the group was able to get up to speed with their case load and give a much needed break to the staff, which allowed them and the doctors to provide the best possible patient care. Having an AMRAS employee on site really helped streamline their processes.
